"I have recently joined HESS and have had to negotiate my way around a new web-site and learn how to respond to the automated system.
As with any new on-line systems which are unfamiliar there is always the worry that it would be difficult or complicated. However, I have found that I have quickly learned how to use them with the help of an induction session and very straight forward instructions. Once navigated a couple of times I have been able to use the systems automatically without referring back to instructions.
Having been unused to the automated phone calls, the first couple of times can be a little disconcerting, as the whole procedure is quite quick, and if the response is not quick enough you can find that the assignment has already gone. You can ring back and more often than not the job is still available. Just be sure to remember your ID and Pin numbers!
I have had work offered and as a new member the offers of assignments are beginning to build up. I have already had repeat requests from two schools. For me it is an ideal way of getting work as it fits in with other commitments and it is clear that schools also find this a very useful service.
Most helpful however are the people at the end of the phone-line or e-mails, should help or advice be required. I have only ever been met with cheerful and courteous responses and any queries have been dealt with calm efficiency.
