Why has Supreme Education designed a technology to assist LAs, schools and teachers in staffing and recruitment?

Our management team pioneered the concept of recruiting supply teachers in the UK when Local Management of Schools (LMS)was introduced.

We have set the standard that many agencies have attempted to follow. More than ten years on, we knew our sector was ready for change and the technology we have developed will revolutionise the way schools and teachers interact within staffing and recruitment services.

Much research and reflection has been undertaken within the education staffing market. Supreme Education has identified considerable benefits of automating many of the laborious and time-consuming administration tasks associated with providing a quality recruitment service to schools and teachers. Ultimately, we have developed our system to significantly reduce the cost of supply teachers to schools and provide the best value and quality service.

Is the recruitment process automated?

No, as we hold the DCSF Quality Mark we recruit teachers and other educators in the traditional way as recommended by the DCSF. This includes face to face interviewing of all candidates, CRB, GTC and List 99 background checks and qualification verification together with all the usual referencing procedures, to ensure our candidates have the relevant subject knowledge and recent experience to teach.

The automated system is only as good as the quality of teachers offered to schools that's why our staff spend most of our time on quality aspects of our service.

As a member of the Education Division of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), Supreme Education is bound by its Code of Practice for Education.

How long is a typical supply teacher assignment?

There is no such thing as a typical assignment as a supply teacher with Supreme Education. Assignments can vary in length from only half-a-day to one school year and beyond. Schools simply specify their individual requirements for each vacancy and position.

Why should an LA or school use Supreme Education's technology to manage their supply cover needs?

Ultimately, we have developed our system to significantly reduce the cost of supply teachers to schools and provide the best value and quality service. Our technology has been designed to improve LA frontline services.

No more early morning, lunchtime or afternoon calling sessions. Management information at your fingertips; no more staff absence sheets to be filled in or absence from work forms collated and sent off to the LA and DfES. All this information can be provided instantly through our reporting mechanism.

By being able to identify replacement teachers before they arrive, will give enhanced security to all schools and a firm guarantee that all teachers have been thoroughly vetted. Furthermore, once a CRB check, List 99 or eligibility to work has expired, the Supreme Education system will automatically disqualify a teacher from receiving work should any of these critical skills expire.

Schools can build a rich database of information for teachers wanting to teach in their school. Schools can add their brochure online together with any school policy that they feel will prepare teachers before they arrive at the school.

How does Supreme Education check that supply teachers are thoroughly vetted as per DCSF and Quality Mark guidelines?

Supreme Education has stringent vetting procedures. In addition to identity checks, Supreme Education carefully checks all references given for the previous two working years ensuring there is a continual audit trail of employment.

Supreme Education is also a registered body with the Criminal Records Bureau. The CRB completes enhanced disclosure, including detailed background checks on all Supreme Educations supply teachers before commencing an assignment. These checks include criminal investigation checks together with List 99.

Supreme Education teachers also complete medical questionnaires to ensure they are medically fit to teach in schools.

As a proud DCSF Quality Mark Holder and member of the Education Division of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), Supreme Education is bound by its Code of Practice for Education.

How do you source supply teachers?

We work in partnership with LAs to find the best way to fill all the requirements for teachers and schools. We spend a considerable amount of time and effort short-listing school staff

Is Supreme Education responsible for a supply teacher's performance once they are at a school?

In partnership with the LA, Supreme will agree and abide an internal code of conduct which clearly outlines our standards expected on every assignment. During the school day our teachers would be under the direct supervision of the school management team. To ensure we get it right first time, Supreme Education request detailed feedback at the end of each day on every teacher?s individual performance. This can be done by simply adding the teacher to your preference list.

Can schools organise cover via the internet?

Schools can add any classroom vacancy to the Supreme Education system online or via interactive voice response (IVR).

The Supreme system automatically shortlists qualified candidates who are vetted and available and then instantly notifies them of your vacancy via the web or through the phone. Your local teacher accepts the vacancy and the vacancy is filled.

It can't be that simple! What happens when there are no teachers available?

If Supreme Education cannot provide you with an LA teacher, your system can be set up to contact an alternative source.

The system will then notify your preferred supplier of the vacancy and the first teacher to accept the assignment secures the placement.

Can you provide supply teachers right across the educational arena?

Supreme Education is able to recruit and deploy all teachers and school educators from Early Years to KS4, as well as providing instuctors, cover supervisors, invigalators, nursery nurses, classroom assistants and higher level teaching assistants.
